Accommodation

The 4 cabins sleeping 10 guests are serviced by 8 crew, an expedition leader and an executive chef. There are 2 master suites with king size beds, 1 cabin with 2 single bunks and 1 family cabin with 1 king size bed and 2 single beds. All the cabins are air conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms with hot water and fresh water showers. Enjoy life on deck with spacious deck beds a dining deck and top sun deck and a sitting room with a television and sound system.

This special sailing only runs once a year as its transition period of the boat between regions and it offers a unique opportunity to see an active volcano up close, visit Mt Kelimutu’s coloured volcanic lakes and to gain an insight into Alor’s rich tribal culture.  All this in addition to the many highlights of Komodo National Park.

KOMODO – MAUMERE – ALOR

Komodo National Park is located within the Lesser Sunda Islands and consists of the three large islands of Komodo, Padar and Rinca as well as 26 smaller ones. The Komodo Islands are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accessible only by boat, they offer unparalleled views and easy hikes on grassy islands that are home to the world’s largest lizard – the Komodo Dragon. Guests can enjoy world-class diving and snorkelling in warm turquoise waters abundant with marine life as well as secluded white sandy beaches. The highlight of Maumere, on the east end of Flores Island, is a trek up Kelimutu volcano to see the multi-coloured crater lakes. The remote island of Komba offers a rare opportunity to watch an active volcano in all its glory. More than 100 tribes live on Alor – a traditional way of life continues in many of its villages, with thatched treehouses, tribal dancing and ikat weaving.

RAJA AMPAT

Located off the northwest tip of Bird’s Head peninsula on the island of New Guinea in Indonesia’s West Papua province, Raja Ampat is an archipelago comprising more than 1,500 small islands, cays and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo. These islands are incredibly remote and almost undisturbed by humans. They are best known for their amazing diversity of marine life with perhaps the richest coral reef ecosystems in the world.
