The Luxe clifftop Resort, Six Senses Uluwatu Bali

Far from just a cookie-cutter chain of hotels and resorts, Six Senses is all about capturing natural beauty that stops you in your tracks. It sets its sights on far flung yet accessible locations, and delivers a level of service that doesn’t just do the right thing, but does it well with great care – all the while keeping sustainability at its core.

Well, Six Senses Bali is ready to do all that and more in our island paradise. And, just like the many other dreamy Six Senses destinations around the world, Six Senses Bali will be dedicated to fitting seamlessly into the local fabric of the island. After all, on an island that’s so rooted with tranquility and deep ties to nature, this sustainable, luxury brand will be in its element.

A lofty ledge overlooks vast sea and sky views, some easy chairs and an aged wood table serving as reception are a reminder that simple can be very sophisticated. As in the very best resorts the hospitality is generous.

Rooms

The chic one- to three-bedroom suites and villas carry on the water theme with shades of cool blues and greens throughout. Marshmallow-soft beds are draped with gauzy netting, and sliding doors lead to decks with ocean views. Some accommodations have outdoor bathtubs or private plunge pools.

Technology-wise, rooms are equipped with automatic toilets, smart televisions, wireless speakers, and environmentally friendly sensor systems that shut off the air-conditioning when guests step out of the room. Cosy lounge areas encourage minibar consumption, or a cup of brew from the Tanamera coffee machines.

Food & Beverages

Six Senses Uluwatu’s focus on sustainability extends to the restaurants and bar, with high emphasis placed on locally sourced meat and produce. The innovative Crudo restaurant combines elements of Japanese and Latin American cuisines, served in a visually alluring space that features a school of carved wood fish suspended from the ceiling.

The polished, wood-panelled Rocka restaurant offers seasonal dishes mainly from Bali, Asia and Europe, plus an interactive chef’s kitchen and a deck with ocean views. It’s here that à la carte breakfast is served, with options ranging from coconut pancakes, avocado toast with poached eggs and pico de gallo, and soto ayam—a spicy Balinese chicken soup. Opt for a floating breakfast (for an extra fee), which can be served on a woven basket placed in your private pool.

The Spa

Wellness screening is part of the Six Senses philosophy at all their resorts, with many guests checking in for luxury retreats and signature programs that include sleep studies, detox, yoga and fitness programs and more. The spa and fitness centre go right to the heart of Six Senses’ philosophy, where guests may indulge in gravity yoga classes, morning meditation and the sleep study. And more massages. Absolutely.
